Posted: 03 Feb 2010 06:57 AM PST

150,000 is a big number by anyone's standards, but for a small country like Haiti, it is unfathomable. For example, if you take all the deaths by hurricane, earthquake, and tornado in the US for the last 100 years, and multiply by 10. You still don't reach the tragedy of Haiti...

Sarah Palin To Barack Obama: “Hey Pal, It’s Time For Rahm Emanuel To Go!”

Posted: 02 Feb 2010 04:19 PM PST

By every account Rahm Emanuel is a nasty little man with a bad temper and a chip on his shoulder. Your basic Chicago street thug. A little bully in the finest traditions of mobsters like Al Capone. It's no wonder that he fits in so well with his Chicago street thug boss.

War is great for gays

Image by Getty Images via Daylife The Iraq and Afghan wars may be the best news for the gay community in years. Not that gays like war any more than straights. But the times are a-changin' when the nation's top military leaders endorse the repeal of "don't ask, don't tell", a make-believe waffling policy that never satisfied any one. Admiral Mike Mullen, chairman of the Joint Chiefs, served a shocker when he told the Senate Armed Services Committee who said he personally believed that "allowing gays and lesbians to serve openly would be the right thing to do." Mortgage lenders pursue homeowners even after foreclosure

As terrible as it is to lose your house to foreclosure, at least it's a relief to put your biggest financial headache behind you, right? Wrong.
